This is another song that I heard on TV as part of an advertisement - and thought it sounded pretty good. It's the background music to the current TV ad for Heartland Seniors Finance in New Zealand.
After a bit of sleuthing around, I found out that the song in the ad was sung by Auckland singer - Taine Buchan. Check his channel out on YouTube if you want to see more of his talent.
After a bit more research on the internet I found that 3 Rounds and a Sound was an original from the group, "Blind Pilot". This is the YouTube song I chose when writing the lyrics down from it - so the lyrics below might not be an exact take on the original. I write down what I hear. Then I get my guitar out and try and match the sound using easy chords.
So the original Key is: C# Bb Gmaj7 E
Putting the Capo on 1 gave me: C Am G F
But if you want a more Ukulele sound, slap your Capo on 6 using: G Em D C
Here goes...
3 Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot
Capo 1C Am G F
C Am
They're playing our song, they're playing our song
G F C
Can you see the lights? Can you hear the hum of our song?
Am G
I hope they get it right, I hope we dance tonight
F
Before we get it wrong
C
And the seasons will change us new
Am
But you're the best I've known, and you know me
G F
I could not be stuck on you if that weren't true
C Am G F
C
I was swimming - my eyes were dark
Am
'Til you woke me and told me that opening
G F
Is just the start - It was
C
Now I see you 'til kingdom come
Am
You're the one I want
G F ? ?
To see me for all the stupid things I've done
C Am
Soil and six feet under, kept just like we were
G F
Before you knew you'd know me - And you know me
C Am
Blooming up from the ground - 3 rounds and a sound
G F
Like whispering you know me - And you know me
C Am G F
C Am
So this was our song, this was our song
G F
I still see the lights, I can see them
C Am
And the crisscross of what is true won't get to us
G F
Coz you know me - I could not give up on you (wouldn't feel true)
C Am
And the fog of what is right won't cover us coz you know me
G F
I could not give up a fight (wouldn't feel right)
C Am
Soil and six feet under, kept just like we were
G F
Before you knew you'd know me - And you know me
C Am
Blooming up from the ground - 3 rounds and a sound
G F
Like whispering you know me - And you know me
C Am
Soil and six feet under, kept just like we were
G F
Before you knew you'd know me - And you know me
C Am
Blooming up from the ground - 3 rounds and a sound
G F
Like whispering you know me - And you know me
C Am G F
